The Alany Micro Mosquito

Alany Micro Mosquito Box

3 channel indoor flying RC helicopter

This is one cool helicopter! The Alany Micto Mosquito is an engineering breakthrough. With the ability to take off and land on a dime, this helicopter can fly forwards, backwards, left, right, and even hovers in place! From it's dual proportionally controlled counter-rotating main blades, to it's flashing and color changing LED eyes, this helicopter will not only capture your imagination, it will draw the attention of everyone in sight!

The helicopter body is black in color and is about 7 inches long. The body is shaped kind of like an insect, hence the name mosquito, and is made from a fairly thick injection molded plastic. The tail rotor is set horizontally, just like the dual main rotor blades, which sit one on top of the other. The helicopter is super stable in flight due to the counter rotating main blades, and makes a great entry level helicopter for the novice pilot.

Hovering Micro Mosquito

Built to hover right out of the box, forward and backward flight is accompished by the tail motor, which spins in both directions. To fly forward, the tail motor spins the horizontally mounted tail blade causing the tail to lift just enough to tilt the helicopter's nose down which causes the helicopter to fly forward. To fly backwards, the reverse is true, the tail motor spins the horizontal tail blade in the opposite direction causing the tail to go down, which tilts the nose upwards, making the helicopter fly in reverse.

Left and right turns are accomplished by the proportionally controlled counter rotating main propellers which are positioned one on top of the other. To turn left one of the main props will spin faster than the other, causing the helicopter's body to turn in that direction. A trim knob is conveniently located on the remote control unit so you can fine tune the helicopter's hover so it will sit perfectly straight and true in mid air.

The remote control unit has two sticks on top of it, on the left and right sides. The left one makes the helicopter's main rotor blades spin causing the lift for the helicopter, and the stick on the right causes the helicopter to go forward and backward , as well as fly to the left and right. The trim knob sits below the right stick on top of the remote controller as well. There is also an LED on top of the remote to show that the power is on and that the remote is synched up with the helicopter.

The helicopter will fly for between 5 and 10 minutes on a single charge, and it comes with a 110v A/C adapter to recharge it's built-in Lipo battery which takes about 20 minutes. Also ncluded in the package is a 9v battery for the remote control unit. (Yes, the battery IS included!) and a telescoping antenna which screws into the remote control unit.

All in all, we are very impressed with the Alany Micro Mosquito's build quality and flight characteristics. This helicopter is one of the must have toy's for 2007! And the price puts it into the reach of almost anyone who wants one.
